Director of Research

Phil Todd is an expert market strategy and market research professional with over 25 years B2B and B2C consulting experience covering technology and telecoms, as well as retail, commodities and finance.  Phil has specific expertise in building research-based consulting teams, change management, performance management, and consulting research business development.

Previous experience includes working with Ovum telecoms consulting on business development and delivery of major international projects. Previously Phil worked as Head of Client Research with the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) where he led 20 analysts and 10 new business sales managers in the USD16m business unit with global P&L responsibility. Before the EIU, Phil was Head of Custom Research with Analysys Mason leading the team of 10 consultants and analysts.

Phil has worked with clients worldwide on projects including market strategy, market entry, price strategy, competitive positioning and economic / technology policy. He has specific experience of working with clients across S. Africa, Middle East and Far East, including extensive project work in Dubai, Johannesburg, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

Phil has a degree in Psychology & English, and a Masters in Computer Science.
