Waylay takes the API road to IoT platform integration
Internet of Things applications are still developed in siloes. Every development is unique, is usually developed end to end, and contains few re-used or re-usable elements. This makes development expensive and time-consuming, and reduces the scope for specialization and optimization of individual elements. There is broad agreement that more horizontal elements and abstraction layers would be a good thing, but an overall framework that would support this still seems far away. This Research Note examines the approach to developing horizontal IoT solution components pioneered by Waylay, a small Belgian start-up.
