Enterprises implementing the Internet of Things (IoT) are on a steep learning curve. In technology terms, the complexity of Enterprise IoT becomes a major issue for those that have implemented them, overshadowing even security in many surveys. In business terms, enterprises are also busy playing catch-up with the range of business structures and processes that need to be redefined to deliver and achieve the full benefits and opportunities from Enterprise IoT. For many organisations, the transformation of the business becomes the greater challenge.

This Research Note identifies six key enterprise strategies which should be assessed and ultimately implemented prior to, or in parallel with, the implementation of Enterprise IoT. The strategies address products, processes, people, performance, platforms, and partnerships - the 6 strategic P’s of Enterprise IoT.
