M2M typically has a greater requirement for national roaming than handsets, tablets or mobile broadband. Many applications would benefit from the ability to use the network of any MNO in the country. Currently to do so MNOs need to use a global SIM (MCC-901) or a SIM registered in a foreign country. This Research Note examines the benefits of using national roaming and the likelihood that regulators will push MNOs to offer it.
