Momentum is building behind usage-based insurance
While there have been some notable pockets of adoption (particularly Italy), usage-based insurance has been slow to arrive. It is beginning to feature in the insurers portfolio of services in some geographic markets. Where it has been made available it often targets niche segments such as young drivers rather than the mass market. The slow stop/start nature of its development can be attributed to a number of factors but there is now more momentum behind the service. This paper examines some of the key success factors.
