A tremendous amount of the value of M2M solutions lies in analysis of the data generated. Through telematics, the automotive sector has had more experience than other sectors in pursuing and utilizing (vehicle) data and, with advances in technology, additional opportunities are now emerging. This Research Note reviews what this data is, how the data could be applied in ‘data communities,’ and what the opportunities and issues will be for providers like mobile operators in this emerging space.
