The Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) was founded in 2003 to address the requirement to share digital content across networked devices in the home. Despite significant backing from the supply-side with industry heavyweights such as Intel, Sony and Microsoft supporting it there has been far less awareness among consumers of the protocol and what it enables.
