Regulation of permanent roaming is a hot topic for mobile network operators (MNOs). If it is prohibited, it has implications for how MNOs support existing deployments of overseas connections and how they position themselves to secure global contracts. Without the ability to support via roaming, MNOs will need to find other alternatives such as focusing more on horizontal alliances with other MNOs.
