Enterprises run Private Mobile Radio (PMR) systems in countries all around the world supporting legacy voice and data services in various contexts.  With growing demand for data services PMR operators may feel like they have been backed into a corner. They run networks that are critical to their day-to-day operations but which are outdated with no available upgrade-path. Such operators have searched for new a solution that’s both economical and future proof. This Research Note examine whether LTE offers an opportunity for these PMR operators to tap into the growth in mobile data and the opportunities presented by M2M.
