In October 2015 Machina Research published the report entitled '2G and 3G switch off: a navigation guide for IoT', a comprehensive guide to Mobile Network Operator (MNO) plans for 2G and 3G switch off. Since then there has been some clarification of operator plans.

This Research Note presents our revised views on the likely lifespan of such networks.
