Maingate and Raco deals point the way for a competitive year for M2M Service Providers, particular in Europe

In late 2014 there was a flurry of M&A around M2M Service Providers (MSPs). RACO Wireless was acquired by Kore Telematics and module manufacturer Sierra Wireless bought Wireless Maingate. Historically these MSPs dominated the M2M marketplace. In recent years, however, facilities-based CSPs have taken a lot more interest in the market. This Research Note examines the position of MSPs in the M2M market and their likely positioning in future.
