As a technology concept, LPWA became white-hot in 2015. While doing so, it also re-invigorated the strategic importance of telecoms in the wider technology sector, owing to various uncertainties and open questions that are related to its future direction. Machina Research anticipates that during 2016 the LPWA space will see a real shift from its hitherto marketing-driven discourse towards large-scale deployments and concrete solution implementations.

This market tracker has been set up to follow such developments, and to deconstruct the ongoing “momentum” around the leading players. Depending on the level of activity over the coming months, it will be updated either quarterly or semi-annually.
