In May 2016, two announcements were made by Hitachi. The first one related to the formation of the Hitachi Insight Group, based in Santa Clara (US) to “drive Hitachi’s unified Internet of Things (IoT) business and go-to-market (GTM) strategy worldwide.” The second announcement was the unveiling of the Lumada IoT Core Platform, “incorporating expansive expertise in operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT), blending powerful and proven data orchestration, streaming analytics, content intelligence, simulation models, and other Hitachi software technologies.” With these announcements, Hitachi Insight Group started its game changing approach to the opportunities in IoT.
