The new year kicks off with conferences in January that play an important part in setting the stage for what is ahead in M2M and IoT. For the consumer electronics industry, there is no bigger show than CES. This year it was certainly about IoT as BK Yoon, President and CEO of Samsung, focused his opening keynote on IoT’s impact on society and his company (in five years 100% of Samsung products will be connected). CES was later followed by M2M Evolution, a specialized conference where many M2M and IoT players come to connect with partners in the ecosystem. This Research Note explores developments around M2M and IoT observed at CES, the AT&T Developer Summit that occurred right before CES, and M2M Evolution.
